The Irish Consul and Director of Enterprise Ireland in China, Mr David Byrne, ICDL Foundation CEO, Mr Damien O’Sullivan, Vice Principal of Nanning Vocational Technology College, Mr Zhou Wang and Mr Hu Weidong, along with other stakeholders, attended and witnessed the ceremony. The ceremony highlighted collaboration and the commitments between the education sector in Guangxi and ICDL Asia to raise the digital skills standards among students in the province.
The college will carry out relevant training and certification in the whole province with the help of the Development Center of Modern Vocational Education. Using this as a platform, it will allow teaching, training and certification of computer skills reaching to international standards and will further promote digital literacy and awareness in the province.
Nanning Vocational Technology College is the first in China’s Guangxi Province to implement ICDL. This will set as an example for more schools to follow suit as well.
