NEW EU STUDY LOOKS AT ICT IN EDUCATION

A new study from the European Commission on digital technology in education has highlighted that there is a gender gap in digital skills development between boys and girls. The study also found that teachers often have to use their own time to learn

The ‘2nd Survey of Schools: ICT in Education’ aimed to examine the progress in ICT in schools across Europe and to develop a model for a highly equipped connected-classroom.

The findings emphasise the importance of structured digital skills development for teachers, to enable them to help their students to develop their own digital skills, and the need for more work to encourage girls to engage with ICT and computing topics.
